綠化苗木主要分為行道樹、花灌木、綠籬、草本花卉、草坪等幾大類。實際的綠化中都會采用二到三種以上來進行全部的綠化。

以公園為例，道路兩旁會植以玉蘭、銀杏、黃金槐、紅楓、香樟等喬木作為行道樹，可觀賞、可遮蔭。行道樹底下會植以、紅葉石楠、金葉女貞、小葉黃楊等綠籬類苗木，用以把道路和花壇隔離開來。

花壇內可以種植各種花灌木，比如梅花假山制作 不銹鋼鑄件 鋁箔真空袋 七孔梅花管 hdpe硅芯管 液壓鋼壩 PVC軟管 飛行激光打標機 瀝青保溫泵、櫻花、叢生紫荊等觀花灌木，用以賞花之用?；▔锸Ｓ嗟牡乇?，則可以用紅花草、鳶尾、蔥蘭等觀花草本花卉覆蓋，也可以植以麥冬草、四季草等草坪。
